Synchronica and Newpace 'changing the way people use mobiles'

Mobile messaging firm Synchronica is collaborating with Newpace technology to launch a new way of using mobile phones.

They are working on a Rich Communication Suite that will unify several different aspects of mobile communications, including media sharing, instant messaging, conferencing and voice services.

Executive vice-president of sales and business development at Synchronica Simon Taylor said this is "a cost-efficient way to be amongst the first to offer this ground-breaking product that is set to change the way in which we use our mobile phones".

While his firm will look after the sales and marketing aspect of the venture, Newpace will supply the required technology.

This kind of development could be welcomed by many mobile phone users, especially as the devices are becoming an increasingly important part of everyday life.

Earlier this month, research conducted by Canalys showed 487.7 million handsets were shipped globally last year, compared with 414.6 million computers.
