Huawei predict user-experience to be key in future of smartphones

The future of mobile will be about enhancing the user experience, as people will use their devices for an increasing number of tasks - such as surfing the web and managing emails

A seamless user-experience is what will be expected of mobile operators in the future, according to Huawei.

Ying Weimin, president of GSM/UMTS/LTE Networks for Huawei's Wireless Network business unit, was discussing Huawei's No-Edge Network concept at the 2012 LTE World Summit.

"For the past 20 years, mobile operators have focused on how to increase their subscriber numbers, but in the next 20 years, the focus should be on attracting valuable users and enhancing user experiences," he stated.

The No-Edge Networks concept hopes to provide an efficient and sustainable mobile broadband network, using various innovative LTE (long term evolution) technologies.

It is this "ultra-broadband" that will help the progression of smartphone connectivity, ensuring mobile users enjoy the benefits of accessing quality data simply and quickly.
