Mobile network Orange has introduced a new deal intended to save its younger customers money on calls, texts and data usage.
The U24 deal will be available to individuals aged under 24 and has been specifically developed for the needs of this age group, the firm announced.
It will offer users who top up at least £15 a month unlimited free calls and texts to anyone on Orange or T-Mobile, as well as 1GB of data allowance a month.
Orange stated the deal will be perfect for keen users of social networks and students who are on a tight budget, as it helps to save them money without compromising on keeping in touch with friends.
Director of propositions at Orange UK Simeon Bird said he was pleased to be able to reward younger customers with the market-leading offer.
"Whether they're going away to university, or starting out in a new career, with U24 we're hoping to make life a little easier, providing them with an extra mobile data allowance and the potential to call and text over 27 million people as often as they like - all for no extra charge," he stated.
To take advantage of the deal, all individuals on pay as you go deals have to do is present their drivers licence, passport or valid PASS ID at any Orange store to have U24 added to their account.
They can also download the U24 app to help them manage their usage. This is available for Apple, Android and BlackBerry devices and checks a person's address book for contacts on Orange or T-Mobile that they will be able to talk and text with for free.
Commenting on the offer, telecoms expert at uSwitch Ernest Doku said it will go down very well with university students who are expecting to pay hefty tuition fees on top of everyday living costs.
He added consumers can expect other phone providers to offer similar deals in the near future in order to attract younger individuals to their network.
